Do you
know the secret of writing an engaging blog post?
My answer is “blog post structure”
If you want to engage your
reader in your blog post then you must know your narration style and where your
narrative is going.
It's important to write a blog post in a sequence so it can be
optimized to rank higher in search engines and you’ll get more visitors.
And it's important to throw a hook to our visitors so they can
come back again. And we can do that with a proven blog post template.
So, that’s why I will share my personal blog post template with
you. So, you can rank high as the sky is.
Without further ado, let's begin…
Proven blog post structure
As I said this is the same template that I use to rank on google.
I will start with headings and end with a conclusion.
Before writing about blog content we should know our type of
content. You should ask this question before starting up “what is my content
type?”
It is necessary to understand your blog content type. So that you
can make it easy to consume for your readers. And make complex information
simple and consumable for your readers.
If you do it sequence wise then you can create a slippery slide for your readers, they will end reading the full blog post without any hesitation.
Types of content
1. Listicle a.k.a List post
This is one of the most
popular form of blog content on the internet-why?
Here's why
just two reasons it is easy to write and enhances readers reading
experience.
You can see them everywhere. And it isn’t a coincidence. Everyone
in this world is busy. And as we know on an average basis. Online articles are
lengthy and time-consuming.
So, you can easily skim a list-type article to get all the
information you need.
here are the examples of listicles post.
· 5 amazing blog security tips
· 6 niche ideas for blogging
2.
Product reviews
Product review articles are mainly long and in-depth articles.
This is a type of content where you need to be very honest about the product.
You need to be very careful in few places like:
· Price of the product - is it
too expensive? Is that product worth the price?
·
quality of the
product- is it of good quality or cheap
quality?
·
User experience- you can add your personal experience only if you have used this
product in past. Otherwise, you can use other people's reviews.
Tips to write a good product review:
· Know the product
· Use the product(optional)
· Know why readers are searching for that product so you give them
alternate options
· Compare the product with other products
· Always publish your own review in the end in the form of a conclusion
Follow the above tips for writing a great product review.
3. Interviews
These types of contents are a2a conversation. When you don't have
time to write the whole big article or don't know on what topic to write.
Then this is where interview type of content plays a big role. You
just have to pick an individual of your niche or industry then look for his
interviews online in video form.
Then you just have to write down the full interview in written
format. If you don't find an interview or you are not satisfied with those
questions.
Here's what you can do...
Mail him with the list of questions you want to ask about them and
ask them to write back with those answers.
This type of content has a lot of sharing potential.
4. Case studies
Case studies are different types of blog content. It is like storytelling, and it's eagers to read the full article.
It tells the story of
how the company (or individual) became zero to a hero or how it went million-dollar
evaluation to bankrupt.
Case studies are not just about companies or entrepreneurs. Case
studies are of various types.
There are many other types of content and if I keep writing about
them then it will become a great article but I will leave it for some other day.
so, I will just add the table of the content chart.
Blog post structure
1. post-title
my post
title is simple and short. I spent some time analyzing and finding common
things in the headlines of other popular bloggers.
And after
spending hours on it. I found few things common in their headlines.
·
number
·
power word
·
keyword
·
insight signal
First things first- if a reader doesn't
Click on your article through a search engine page, then we will lose your
ranking and keyword power over time.
Even if you have written a great and
long form of content you will lose your traffic.
If you don't start doing this you are headed for trouble...
If you avoid improving your ctr(click-through rate) then you will fall quickly from the indexing page of Google and there's a great risk of losing traffic.
So, to improve your ctr you must use Power words in your headlines to grab the attention of potential visitors to your blog.
2. Insight signal
"A survey conducted by HubSpot found that their post views increase by 33% by using brackets vs no brackets"
You can also do the same to increase your ctr as many popular bloggers do this. It works efficiently to increase ctr through an insight signal.
Basically, an Insight signal is content with brackets or parentheses. It will allow readers to know what they can expect in this article.
use your keyword in your post title and don't forget to use at least one power word.
below is the table of power words
Secret tips for a post title:
· Your heading should be in between
<h1> </h1> tag
· Use numbers to increase ctr
· Don’t use more than 60 characters in
your title
· Try to use uncommon words in your post
title
· Use insight signal at the beginning or
at the end of the post title
· The best way you describe your blog post
3. post description
Though your description adds no value in ranking in
google search results. But meta description is important to increase
click-through rates.
Let's take a look at this example which describes
my blog post formula.
Now you know, it's all and
always been about user intent. Describe it in a more effective way. I will give
you few points.
Effective description formula:
· It should not be more than 160 characters or letters
·
Try to include your
keyword in your description
·
Try to describe what your
readers should expect within the post. Make sure it is written in short but
effective
·
Try to write a
click-worthy description as much as you can
4. Writing the content
Now you know how to write the title and blog post description. Now
let's dive into the body part and important part.
According to research, 80% of your readers are more likely to read
the full post only if they read the introduction of your blog. And if they like
it.
So, your introduction plays a significant role in your blog post.
5. Writing the perfect introduction
While keeping “blog post structure” in your mind. You should know
how to write a perfect introduction to your blog. Even if you don’t know how to
write a perfect introduction- no worries.
I will help you to write the perfect introduction.
I broke the introduction part into four simple steps. I will explain
each part of it. There's nothing much in those steps but you should have a look
at them.
·
Problem
·
Solution
·
Personal anecdote
·
Promise
Now I will tell you how to use each one in your introduction.
Problem: explain to your readers why it is difficult about what you are
talking about.
Solution: after talking about
the problem tell them about the solution you have for them. So, they will spend
more time reading your post.
Personal anecdote: If you have your personal experience with that product or working
experience then share it. This will help you to gain their trust.
Promise: In this section, you will
give them something to look forward to.
6. The body
Now it's time to write the main content of your article. I
recommend you to outline the points which you are going to cover in your body
before writing it.
Now here you give the main information as you promised in the
introduction. Try to write in small paragraphs. Make sure your paragraphs are
not more than 3 or 4 lines.
Also read:
While delivering information don’t just do it directly. Try to
create a slippery side. So, your reader won't leave the article until he
finishes reading it.
I know you are not joseph Sugarman to do it on the god level. But
still, try to create as much you can.
Your first line should be so catchy. so, they won't leave until
the last line. And create harmony while writing your article.
Ask questions to your reader and his/her answer should be yes.
For each section, make sure whatever you are explaining, explain
it on a simple level. And tell them how they can apply it into their life.
Always try to add something significant fact, a quote, or an idea
frequently between the content.
Important: - don’t ever try to
write what you wouldn’t read. As it will lose harmony.
7. Conclusion
The last thing to spice up your blog post is to write a blog post.
You can call it whatever you would like to call it. I call it my unbiased
review.
Some people think that writing a conclusion or your final thoughts
at the end of your blog post is just a waste of time. But I don't find it to be
true.
In fact, it can help you to increase reader time spent on your
article. And it will help you to rank on search engines even faster.
Let me tell you something, assume you are watching a Quentin
Tarantino and someone switches off the television. After that how will you
feel?
Unsatisfied right, that's how your reader will feel without a
proper conclusion. A reader always likes to hear your personal perspective or
your final thoughts on that particular topic.
The secret ingredient
My secret ingredient for writing the perfect conclusion is simple.
Here the conclusion formula is divided into three simple steps.
· Ending statement
· Post recap
· Add a call to action
Here's the explanation
Ending statement: take some time to explain to your reader what it
all means and how it's done before going forward.
Post recap: try to give the recap or summary of the article in
short. If you do this your reader will save time. And he will come back next
time. But let me tell you this is optional.
Add call-to-action: always add a call to action at the end
of your post. Don't tell them to subscribe to your email. Ask them to be a part
of your online growing community.
Always
remember, people don't like to be sold, they like to be helped.
If
you ever just try to push them or make pressure on buying them. Then he will
never come back. You may lose a potential client.
Optimizations for your blog post:
·
Your
URL should be not more than 75 characters
·
It
is mandatory to use keyword in your URL
·
While
using images don't forget to add alt images
·
Try
to add keywords in your alt tags
·
Your
keyword density should be lower than 1%
·
Always
try to write a post of a minimum of 1500+ words. It will help you to rank
·
Add
keyword in your subheadings
This is the correct way to write your conclusion. he who can write like this has the power to grow their audience in a short span of time.
